Cookie Policy
Exactly what Varthaanam stores in your browser and why. Short version: strictly necessary items only — no analytics, no advertising, no cross-site tracking, and nothing to consent to.
Last updated: 5 October 2026
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage used by Capreact Private Limited on the Varthaanam website and platform. It forms part of our Privacy Policy.
We use strictly necessary storage only — the items that sign you in and keep the platform secure. We set no analytics cookies, no advertising or remarketing cookies and no cross-site trackers, and we embed no third-party ad tech. That is why you are not asked to click through a consent banner: there is nothing optional to consent to.
1. What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small text file a site stores in your browser. Related technologies — localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB — do the same job with a different mechanism. This Policy covers all of them, and uses "cookies" as shorthand.
Strictly necessary items are those without which the Services cannot run — you could not sign in, stay signed in, or be protected against session hijacking. Under the ePrivacy Directive and the DPDP Act these do not require consent, because they are what you asked for when you asked to use the service.
2. What we actually store
| Item | Set by | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firebase Authentication session | Google Firebase (our authentication provider) | Keeps you signed in between page loads and across tabs, and lets the app refresh your session token without asking for your password again. | Until you sign out or the session expires |
| Firebase installation / app-check identifiers | Google Firebase | Identifies this browser instance to our backend so abusive or forged clients can be rejected. | Until browser storage is cleared |
| Interface preferences | Varthaanam | Remembers per-device conveniences such as the last inbox filter or a collapsed sidebar, so the app opens the way you left it. | Until browser storage is cleared |
All three are strictly necessary or purely local conveniences. None of them follows you to other websites, and none is shared with advertisers or data brokers.
3. Third-party cookies on connected services
When you connect a third-party account (Meta, Google) or pay through a hosted checkout (Razorpay), that provider sets its own cookies on its own domain, under its own policy, while you are on their page. We do not control those and cannot read them. You should read the policy of whichever provider you choose to connect or pay through:
4. How to control cookies
- Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data in its settings.
- Blocking strictly necessary items will prevent you from signing in to Varthaanam. That is the only consequence — there is no tracking to opt out of.
- Clearing site data for Varthaanam signs you out and resets your interface preferences on that device. Nothing in your workspace is lost, because your data lives on our servers, not in your browser.
5. Do Not Track
There is no agreed standard for how sites should respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals. Since we do not track you across sites in the first place, the signal makes no difference to what we store.
6. Changes
If we ever add analytics, marketing or any other non-essential technology, we will update this Policy and ask for your consent before setting it — with refusing exactly as easy as accepting, and with no loss of access to the Services if you refuse.
